Verses on Friday- Today

Hello, everyone!  It's has been awhile since I've posted.  I've been on hiatus, still recouping the back.  Feeling much better!  And happy to be back sharing with you again.

Have you been to the Verses Rubber Stamps website lately?  They recently had a Verses Challenge and have some other neat things in store for the future.  If your not getting the Verses emails, you should go sign up for them- don't want to miss anything!

Now, for my Verses card for this week:

As usual, this card didn't end up like I pictured it in my mind.  Do you ever do that?  I started it thinking it would be a Birthday Card, but the more I looked at it, the more I like it for a Mother's Day Card.  Hmmmmm?

The Verses Stamps is  BB0506-E "Today".  The other stamp I used was from Hero Arts- "Woman with Pearls".  I also used Webster's Pages Designer Paper.  Have to say I'm totally in love with Webster's Pages paper!

As always, check below if you would like to see a list of my supplies.

Thanks for stopping in for a look today!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend and hope to see you back here again next week.

Heather

Verses Challenge #1

Surprise!  It's Tuesday and I'm posting a card for Verses.  Lots of things to celebrate today.  First of all, it's Valentine's Day- so happy Valentine's Day to you all!  Second, today is the release of the details for the 1st Verses Rubber Stamps Card Challenge.  Gotta say, I've been so excited about this since I was first given the information about the Challenge.  I can't wait to see what you all submit.  And I get to help select the winner.  How cool is that (well, for me anyway! HAHA)

So, in keeping with the Challenge details, I made a card for you all.  The Challenge is to have a Verses Rubber Stamp as the main focus and use Black and White with a "splash" of Red.

This is Verses Rubber Stamp RR0723 "Love and Magic".  It is stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and I stamped it twice, cut our the LOVE and pop-dotted them on top of the original stamp.  I used a lot of Spellbinders dies on this card- the black card stock, sentiment and Designer Paper are all cut out with Spellbinders.

Hope you enjoyed today's card.  I sure enjoyed making it!

OK, now get out there and make some cards with Verses Stamps for the Challenge.  If you haven't received the details of the Challenge and want to play along, make sure you go to Verses Rubber Stamps, sign up for their emails and join us in the FUN!

Have a Great Day!

Verses- Happiness and Love

It's Friday!  Thanks for stopping in today for my Verses on Friday project.

I can hardly believe that next week is Valentine's Day, can you?  So, thought I would post a Valentine's card I made using Verses Rubber Stamp RR0410 "Happiness and Love".

CAS (clean and simple) is not my usual style, but I was looking for a card that I could use for my Husband.  So, I kept it simple!
The Verses stamp is  RR0410 "Happiness and Love".  I stamped it using Ranger Distress Ink "Festive Berries".  The hearts were cut out from K&Company's Lovely patterned paper and I edged them in "Festive Berries" as well.  The cardstock was some old stuff that I've had sitting around forever- so long I don't even remember the maker or where I got it! LOL

Quick and simple card today!  BTW- did you see this post from yesterday?  Verses is going to start Challenges and the first one is next Tuesday.  I would love to see you join along with us!  I'm really excited about the new Challenges.  Make sure you stop by here on Tuesday.  I will be putting up a card a made for it!

Have a great weekend!

Verses- Warmth and Happiness

Hello, all!  Wow- remember me?!  It's been a little while since I have posted.  I've been dealing with some back problems for awhile and sitting at my crafting table really irritated it.  But with the help of some fantastic Physical Therapists, I'm beginning to feel like my old self again!  And how excited was I to get back to crafting!

Thought I would share today a card I made with Verses Rubber Stamp MC0629-E  "Warmth & Happiness".
The patterned paper I used is from the Basic Grey Picadilly pack (another Basic Grey line I'm obsessed with!)  And the house stamp is one I've had for awhile- Hero Arts "House with Plant".  I colored the house with PrismaColor pencils and used some Ranger Stickles Clear Rock Candy on the windows and some Liquid Pearls Opal on the plant (both are a little hard to see in this picture).

Hope you enjoyed my Verses card for the week.  It sure feels good to be back!

Have a great weekend!

Verses on Friday- A Fallen Leaf

Happy Friday! and thanks for stopping in to look at my Verses project today.  My project today was inspired by Fall, which is my favorite season.  I love watching the leaves change color each year.  This year, the leaves have been gorgeous in my area.  I've been taking lots of walks this past month thanks to the new puppy in our house :)  Her favorite thing to do when we walk is to catch leaves!  So, needless to say, I've been noticing the leaves even more than I usually do!

While out walking the other day, I thought of this stamp from Verses Rubber Stamps:
This Verses Stamp is MC0348 "A Fallen Leaf".  I stamped the sentiment with Ranger Distress Inks Fired Brick and Gathered Twig (I inked it with the Gathered Twig first, tapped it off lightly and then inked it with Fired Brick).  The leaf and Designer Paper are from K&Company's Tim Coffey Fall pad.   A really simple card!

Hope you have a great Friday and don't forget it's Veteran's Day.  Not just today, but everyday, I'm so thankful for those men and women who have served our Country in the past and continue to do so.  I'm so grateful to you!

Verses on Friday- Let Us Be Grateful

Oh, my!  I'm so happy to be back with you today for another Verses on Friday post!  I've had some technical difficulties over the past month which is why I haven't posted for awhile.  I hope everything is fixed now and ready to go.

Fall has made an appearance where I live.  And for some reason, I love to do papercrafting in the Fall more than anytime of the year.  I wonder why?  Is there a favorite time of year you like to scrap and/or stamp in more than another?

Well, today's Verses on Friday is definitely inspired by the Autumn weather that I am experiencing.  I found several things that I'm loving right now and put them all together to bring you this:
I used one of the new Verses Rubber Stamps  QQ0852- "Let us be Grateful".  And when I saw the this stamp from Northwoods Rubber Stamps, I fell in love with it right away.  It's a fun stamp to color with Copics and Watercolors, but I decided to go a little different for this card.  Instead, I used K&Company Designer Paper from the Tim Coffey Fall paper pack.  I stamped the Northwoods Stamp multiple times on the Designer Paper and paper pieced the image.  I also used some pop-dots to make it 3-dimensional.

Hope you enjoyed this week's card!

Thanks for stopping by,
Heather

Verses on Friday

Hi, everyone!  Long time, no see!  I've been off-line for about two weeks and it seems like forever.  We had a pretty big storm here about two weeks ago and my internet connection was interrupted.  So frustraing, but I'm happy to be back on-line!

Have you been the the Verses Rubber Stamps website lately?  Several new things going on at Verses.  The new 2011 Catalog is out!  A new catalog means- new stamps!  23 new ones, to be exact.  14 of those stamps are the start of a whole new line of stamps at Verses-  Spanish stamps!

And that is what I have for you today- a card I made using one of the new Spanish stamp- Twinkle Spanish SP9009:

And I have several more of the new stamps that I've been playing with and can't wait to show you.  In the mean time, head on over to Verses and check them out!

Verses on Friday- Friends Who Care

Hello, everyone!  Sorry I'm late posting today- technically, it is still Friday, so I made it!  I've been having some computer problems the past few days :(  Apparently, it has come to life again, so I'm going to post this and pray that it gives me no more problems!

Thought I would share with you a card I made for a class several months ago.  In one of my "Playdate" classes, I taught different ways to make flowers.  So, that is where this card came from:
I used Verses Rubber Stamp  FS1136 "Friends Who Care".  And the flower was made by using a Glubber by Cosmo Cricket and some purple ribbon I picked out of a $1 bin.  My favorite part is the Leaf pins by Maya Road.  I have several different kinds of those pins and I love using them on my projects.

You can find all my supplies listed at the bottom.

Thanks for checking out my card this week.  Hope you have a great weekend and stop back again next week for another Verses on Friday project.

Verses on Friday- The Caterpillar Calls

Happy Friday everyone!  Thanks for stopping by today for my Verses on Friday post.

How has your week been?  We are in the middle of the Stampaway Convention in Cincinnati and having a beautiful week!  I did a demo at Stamp Your Art Out yesterday and doing one again today.  And looking forward to all the awesome shopping tonight and tomorrow!  WOOHOO!  What could be better than a Convention Center full of stamping vendors?!

For today's Verses on Friday project, I thought I would share a card I made to use at my demo yesterday:
This is Verses Rubber Stamp QQ0812- "The Caterpillar Calls".  I love this quote and there are many times in my life that I need this little reminder.  Maybe, I won't send this card out to anyone- just keep it as a reminder to myself!

My demo yesterday was with die-cuts and when I saw the Maribelle Butterfly die-cut by Memory Box, I just knew I had to use this stamp with it.  How gorgeous is that!  I cut the butterfly twice and layered one on top of the other.  Then I used Dusty Concord Distress Ink on Hero Arts Envelope Pattern stamp  and stamped the butterflies to add a little texture.  As always, you can see my supply list below!

Thanks again for stopping by and if you are at Stampaway this weekend, I hope I run into you!

Verses on Friday- Salt of the Ocean

Happy Friday to everyone and welcome back to another Verses on Friday post!  What a week it's been!

First of all, I have to say this before I explode-  Thank you,  Thank You, THANK YOU to everyone who has stopped by my blog over the past two weeks.  I've had some wonderful visitors who have sent me emails and I love it.  I love getting to know you all!  And for those who have chosen to "follow" my blog, I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to have you following me.  And last but not least, to those who have left comments for me, an extra big Thank You.  Your posts were amazing and so encouraging to me!  Don't you just love a hobby where everyone supports and encourages each other!

Just to let you know, if you do send me an email, I will be happy to write you back!  So if you ever have a question about a stamp I use or a technique I've done, just send me a note and I will answer your question if I can!

Don't forget, we have less than a week until my "Blog Candy" giveaway!  If you have not read the post with the details, go here.  Also, if you leave more than one comment or become a follower, I will put your name in the drawing for each comment and one for when you choose to follow.  So, feel free to leave some love!

SHOOO!  I was really "wordy" today.  But let's get to what you really came for- this week's Verses card:
I made this card by stamping Verses Rubber Stamp MC1203 "Salt of the Ocean" with Distress Ink "Stormy Sky" on thick glossy paper.  Before I stamped it, though, I heat embossed the shells using Hero Arts CL383 "Antique Engravings" with Ranger Detail White embossing powder.  Then I rubbed Distress Inks Scattered Straw, Concord Grape and Stormy Sky on the glossy paper.  If you not done this before, the embossed image "resists" the ink (for the most part).  Its a very fun technique to play with.  I love doing it and encourage you to give it a try if you've never done it before.

You can find my supply list below.

That's it for this week.  Thanks for coming by to take a look!  I can't wait for the drawing next week!

Hope you get the time to "play" with paper and ink this week,
Heather

Supply list:
Stamps:  Verses Rubber Stamps MC1203 "Salt of the Ocean"; Hero Arts CL383 "Antique Engravings"
Ink:  Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Scattered Straw, Concord Grape
Designer Paper:  Tim Holtz Kraft Resist;    DCWV Travel Pack
Embossing Powder:  Ranger Detail White
Cardstock:  Bazzill

Verses on Friday- Christmas in July

Happy Friday to you!  Can't believe it's Friday again.  Does the summer just seem to be slipping by to you?  Sure does to me.  The stores are putting out all the "Back to School" supplies and clothes.  Wow!  It's just seems like the kids got out of school and now were getting ready for them to start again!

Which leads me to my Verses on Friday project for today.  If the stores are putting out "Back to School" items, then you know what's next- Christmas!  Yes, I groan every year when I see Christmas items in stores in July.  Really, I don't want to think about Christmas shopping this early.  (I'm a last minute shopper ;)  But I definitely start making my Christmas cards early!  I usually start planning or shopping for my supplies in July/August.  That way they don't get rushed or hurried in the hustle and bustle of all the Holiday "to do lists".

So, I thought I would share with you a Holiday card that I made several months ago, but never have posted it before!

On this card, I used Verses Rubber Stamp MC0634F "Wishing You Always".  I've used this stamp before on a "New Home" card, but I thought it also works really well on a Holiday card.

To make the card, I used the Cricut cartridge "Christmas".  I cut the house three times on three different pieces of cardstock and patterned paper, then paper pieced the house together.  I also used some Smooch ink to give some highlight and shimmer on the house.  You definitely cannot tell from the picture, but this card has a lot of sparkle and shine to it!

Hey, did you see my post from last week?  I am giving away a Verses Rubber Stamp on my blog!  Check out this post and get the details!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Verses on Friday- My Hero Honors

Thank Goodness it's Friday!  And I'm so glad you stopped by today for another Verses on Friday post.  Today is the last day before our 3-day Holiday weekend and I can't be happier!  Do you have fun plans for the Fourth of July weekend?

Well, July 4th is what inspired my Verses on Friday post today.  I have wonderful memories of growing up in a small town and going to the Fourth of July parade (and sometimes even marching in them!).  And I also have wonderful memories of taking my little ones to Independence Day parades.  But this weekend is also a time to reflect on those who have given so much for their country with their service.  We have so much to thank them for!  So if anyone stopping by has or is serving our Country or you are the spouse of someone who has/is,  THANK YOU!
This week's card uses the Verses Rubber Stamp MC0344-F  "My Hero Honors".  Not much more I can say about this stamp-  I think the stamp says it all perfectly!

I also used My Favorite Things stamp from the Pure Innocence line- "My Balloon".  This little cuties dress was paper-pieced with Designer Paper from K&Company "Americana".  I cut the balloon and string off the stamped images and replaced if with the American flag from the K&Company "Americana" Die Cut pack.  All supplies are listed below.

Also, the challenge this week at StampinsistersinChrist.blogspot.com is a "red, white and blue" Thank you card.  So, I'm submitting this in the challenge there.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this week's card and I also hope you enjoy your weekend!  Try to get some creative time in, if you can!  See you next week!

Verses on Friday

Happy Friday everyone!  Another week has rolled by and I'm glad you stopped in today for another "Verses on Friday" post.

How was your week?  I have to admit I didn't get any time in my studio this week.  I've been working at VBS all week and well, to say I'm exhausted would be an understatement!  So, for this week's Verses card, I thought I would share with you a card from a class I taught several months ago.  We focused on using "Shimmer Mists" in the class.  We had a fun time "playing" with the mists.
The Verses Rubber Stamp I used for this card is BB0441-E "Begin Each Day".  Yeah, I use this stamp a lot.  Are you like me?  When you find a stamp you love you just seem to reach for it all the time?  This particular stamp has gotten a lot of "ink time" with me!

So, to make the card, I used a Sizzix embossing folder "Corners, Damask".  I brushed Sugar Cane Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze on the corners and sprayed the rest of the folder with Tattered Angels Pashmina Glimmer Mist.  I put my paper in the folder and embossed, then let it dry.  After it was dry, I "distressed" it with  Distress Ink Tea Dye and Walnut Stain and Colorbox Gold Ink.  I then stamped Hampton Arts "Steam Punk" stamp with Walnut Stain ink on the right hand side.  The butterflies are also from the Hampton Arts "Steam Punk" set.  Those were stamped with Walnut Stain ink and sprayed with Ranger Perfect Pearls Turquoise Mist.  The picture doesn't show it, but the card has a beautiful shine to it!

Hope you enjoyed today's card.  I have to say, it was a really fun card to make.    See you again next week!

Verses on Friday- Think Lovely Thoughts

Hello, friends and Happy Friday to you!  Thanks for stopping in today for another Verses on Friday Project.  I hope you've had a great week.

Do you have anything planned for the weekend?  If not, and you are in the Cincinnati area, make sure you stop by Stamp Your Art Out!  They are having a Verses Warehouse Sale there on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m.  Lots of Verses Stamps on sale at great prices!

And, now, here is my Verses project for this week:
For this week's card, I used Verses Rubber Stamp FS1140-D "Think Lovely Thoughts".  This stamp is quickly becoming one of my favorites.  I've used it on so many cards lately.  And I love how cute those mice are on Penny Black's stamp 4143K "Playdate".  That stamp was a lot of fun to color with my Copic Markers.

I have all the supplies I used for this card listed below.

Thanks again for stopping by for another week of Verses on Friday.  I would love to hear any comments or have you join as a follower!

Verses on Friday

Happy Friday, again to everyone!  Hope you have had a wonderful week!  I'm so glad that you stopped in to see me for another Verses on Friday posting.

Summer seems to have arrived here and there is so much to do!  Our summer is packed full of plans and I can't wait.  Do you have any exciting summer plans?

Sorry, I'm posting this a little late today- technical difficulties!  But better late than never! So-on to the card!

Today, I am using the Verses Rubber Stamp SY0517F "Hopes Born Anew".

Don't you just love that flower stamp?  That is from Unity Stamps "Rain & Flowers".  I colored the flower with Copic Markers and the cloud and rain drops are embossed with Zing silver embossing powder.  Funny thing about my cloud stamp that I used- I have no idea who the maker of that stamp is!  The stamp itself is a cloud with an airplane flying next to it.  There is no maker's mark or name on the stamp.  I would love to give the maker credit for it, but just have no way of knowing.  If you should know the company that it if from, would you let me now?  It would solve a great mystery for me!

Well, short and sweet today, but I have some little ones who are now out of school and want to go play! Hope you have the opportunity to have some fun today and play with paper, ink and stamps!

See you next week!
Heather

Verses on Friday- World is a Book

Hurray for Friday! Another week has flown by and here we are for another Verses on Friday post.  I'm just glad I have electricity today to post this!  We've had quite a week of storms here and I was without electricity yesterday.  So very scary!  Thankfully we are safe, but my thoughts and prayers go out to those that have been affected by the storms, tornadoes and floods that are happening here in the United States.

Now, for this week's Verses on Friday card, I decided to use one of the new Verses Rubber Stamps that were recently released.
This is Verses Rubber Stamp MC0652-D "World is a Book".  I love to travel, so I was drawn right to this stamp!  Don't you think this would be a great stamp to use on a scrapbooking page?  Hmmmm, I think I might have to use this on another project!

The girl with the map is a stamp by Inky Antics and I used 7gypsies Designer Paper, Lille paper stack, to paper piece her.  I love this yummy DP by 7gypsies!  So my style!

I hope you enjoyed this week's Verses project.  I had a lot of fun working on this card!

BTW- I am going to be doing a free Make and Take It at Stamp Your Art Out! on Saturday, May 28th from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm for the first 50 people.  Make sure you stop by and see me!  If you have any questions, please call the store at 513-793- 4558.

Have a wonderful week and I hope you get to spend some time creating!
