Verses on Friday- Daffodils

Welcome to my Verses on Friday post!  My dear DT Sister, Tammy Hershberger is posting her "Verses on Friday" post as well.  Make sure you stop and see her fabulous Verses project.  And if you are joining me from her blog- Thanks for stopping over!

It's Friday again!  But not just any Friday- do you realize this is the last Friday in March?  What?!  Where has the month gone!  I just can't believe how fast the weeks are rolling by!  But Spring is now here and that makes me happy.  My daffodils and tulips are peeking out of the ground.  So gorgeous!

All the beautiful signs of Spring were my inspirations for this week's card.  I love playing with the Verses Rubber Stamp QQ0835-E  "Daffodils".  I could see using this stamp for a "March Birthday", but today's card is a "Just Because" card.
I was playing with my stamped image- trying to figure out how I wanted to color the daffodil.  At first, I used Perfect Pearls Kiwi Mist, Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade and Forest Moss to watercolor the image. Then I saw my bottle of Liquid Pearls White Opal and decided to put it overtop of where I had watercolored the petals.  As the Liquid Pearls dried, it reacted with the Distress Ink and turned the white to an orangey-yellow-white!  It's a bit hard to see it in the photo, but in reality, it's a really cool looking effect.

Twine is very big right now and I've been wanting to play with some Divine Twine that I purchased at Stamp Your Art Out! .  The Jenni Bowlin Studios button and the Trinkettes bird charm just seemed to perfect finishing touch for this card.

I don't often show how I finish the inside of my cards, but I love the way this one turned out and wanted to show you.  I inked only the daffodil on the stamp and stamp it with Ranger Distress Ink Forest Moss.

Hope you enjoyed my project this week and it gave you a "taste of Spring"!  Thanks for stopping by and I would love to hear your comments!

Heather
